My family has been having some challenging times as of late and I have lost track of order in my home. This week I am going to work on a menu plan just to try to get control of an area. Having a menu plan makes for a stress free meal time. It also forces me to look ahead at what evening activities we have planned for the week.
Monday: Enchiladas with Spanish Rice
Tuesday: Spaghetti with Garlic Parm & Herb Bread
Wednesday: Crockpot Chili
Thursday: Stirfry & Crab Rangoons
Friday: Grilled Chicken Breast & Gnocchi with Tomato Sauce
Saturday & Sunday: Road Trip food!
I hope you all having a fabulous Friday. Have a good time entering some fun contests and thanks for stopping by.
One of my favorite things to have when I am chilly is a cup of Russian Tea. I suppose it comes from my mother when I was little she would occassionally spoil me with a sweet and spicy cup of this delightful mix. While I remember her jar being much smaller than mine we seem to have to keep a 1/2 gallon jar of mix around because the boys love to make a cup here and there as well. If you need a new warm beverage this is really one you should give a try!
Ingredients for Russian Tea Mix
Place all ingredients into a bowl or 1/2 gallon mason jar. Mix ingredients thoroughly and store in an airtight container.
To Use Russian Tea Mix
Place 2 tablespoons mix into a cup of boiling water and enjoy!
I haven’t had a thrift store post in awhile but with some inspiration from Jen over at Balancing Beauty & Bedlam I thought I would join in her Frugal Fashionista get together tomorrow. I love seeing how all her readers find great clothes and accessories on her linky. You can feel free to link up here on Thrift Store Thursday as well. Your posts don’t have to be clothing related as long as you found them second hand.
This great black sweater has a cute argyle motif along the front and the sequins are irredescent. If you look close you can see the rhinestones embedded in the buttons as well. This will be a great addition to a pair of slacks or a cover up with a little black dress when it is just a little too chilly. Purchased for only $1.25 it was a steal!
This striped sweater is on the more casual end. It is very light weight and a perfect item for the upcoming spring. The colors are bright and cheerful and I can’t wait to find a pastel or white pair of capris or skirt to pair it with. It was on the same thrift sale and came in at $1.25. (Please excuse the wrinkles I haven’t fluffed it yet as I dry my sweaters on my radiators.)
I think this twin set is my new favorite. Not only is it super cute on but it is so cozy to wear. I love the plush feel to the jacket and the satin trim is different on both sides of the front. One side is straight purple the other has a floral detail so when you button up the jacket the floral hides to the point you leave a couple buttons undone. Pairing it with either jeans or slacks works. Adding a little silver jewelry makes it pop! The set was yeah you guessed it $1.25!
For some reason I am seeing a lot of purple. I love this jacket. The cordory is light weight but adds some fun texture. The front pockets are cut to have a little poofy effect which is just darling. Jackets are really easy to dress up an outfit with but they also add warmth to a casual outfit. This was purchased on the same trip for $1.25.
This green jacket was a great find. The color isn’t well represented in this photo but it has a lot more pop. The microsuede material is easy to clean and has a great texture. It was another $1.25 steal.
Lastly I wanted to show you a couple of scarves that I picked up new with tags for $1.00 each. Scarves are a great way to add texture and interest to an outfit. I love the blue one with an all black outfit. The bright color adds a lot of interest to something that might otherwise be bland.
