Beautiful Flameless Candles

by Heather on August 30, 2010

Do you love candles but find yourself on occasion not wanting a flame burning?  Maybe you are exhausted and would love that spa like feel but worry that bubble bath just might put you to sleep. Yes I have been there done that.

Well with a flameless candle from Enjoy Lighting there is nothing to worry about.  Some of their candles even have timers so they turn off when you want them too.  A candle from Enjoy Lighting is different in the fact that it is made from real wax and has three LEDs precisely placed and programmed to create a flickering effect that casts dancing shadows just like a real flame.

There is a large selection of colors and textures at Enjoy Lighting.  You will find distressed, mottled, holiday and neutral style candles.  There are some wonderful colors for the upcoming fall season as you can see here the browns and oranges are going to be in high demand!

You could even purchase tea light candles to put in your Jack-O-Lanterns for Halloween and not worry about then getting tipped over.  Or maybe you just have a pretty hurricane you would like to place out on the porch in the evenings to make an inviting environment for arriving guests.  The possibilities are truly endless.

You can purchase Enjoy Lighting Flameless Candles at Target, Kmart, Michael’s and Amazon.com.

How I Saved On Eyeglasses

by Heather on August 26, 2010

Awhile back I really started to notice that while driving at night my distance vision was getting fuzzier.  It made things really hard to concentrate at times and I figured it was time to get an exam for eyeglasses.

So my hubby and I were talking and figured it was a good time for both of us to go see the optometrist.  He needs glasses all of the time but I don’t.  He called our regular optometrist and scheduled us appointments.  Off we went to get our eyes checked.
Eye Tools
It turns out that both of us needed new prescription glasses as our prescriptions had become a little more severe.  Well with raising special needs kids and my staying home money is a little tight.  The thought of spending $300 or more on glasses about sends me through the worry roof.

I had heard a lot however about ordering glasses online. So I thought I would give it a whirl.  At Walmart one pair of single vision glasses for myself after tax would have cost just over $90 with some pretty basic frames.  My only addition would have been anti-glare lenses with that night driving issue it is needed.  Andrew on the other hand is getting older and needs bifocals.  I could hear the cash register screaming feed me!  No way was that happening.  So out of the office we went with prescriptions in hand.

When I got home my fingers hit the keys and my mouse was clicking around trying to find the perfect pair of glasses.  Well we found 3 pair.  Mine are single vision and Andrew has a pair of bifocals and a pair of sunglasses coming.  The total?  We are getting all 3 pair with anti-glare for $93.75 and keep in mind those bifocals are in there as well.  I can’t wait for them to arrive but with all the research I did (even asked the optometrist) I am confident in my choice to purchase glasses online.

Are you curious?  Want to give it a whirl?  I have a coupon for you! Click on any of the above links to order your glasses and use the code mommy10 at checkout for a 10% discount.

Small Town American Business

by Heather on August 2, 2010

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ramblers Way. All opinions are 100% mine.

I grew up just outside a small American town and now I live in another one.  Part of the charm of living in a small town is having some local places to shop.  Many small shops have more character than the big box stores.  Sadly, many local stores are being run out of business or forced to move to suburb like strip malls to remain in business.

Rambler’s Way Farm is changing the way America does business.  Their product line of fine woolen materials is one hundred percent domestic run.  All of their resources are from small town America.  Small local manufacturing companies, local farmers and local corporate offices help Rambler’s Way Farm succeed and thrive.

The corporate office originally built in 1792 has even achieved the coveted Gold Lead Certification Level.  Receiving this award makes a great contribution to following high environmental standards.  You can find the office in downtown Kennebunk, Maine.

The woolen products that are Made in America make great gifts while supporting a local business. Take a stand and send the message to support local American made products while helping provide jobs for American workers.
