Someone Shoot Me!

With the Blog Internship starting and a lot of schedule changes in my home due to summer visitation with dad I totally forgot to announce winners on TWO giveaways.  Someone shoot me!

The Kroger giftcard goes to

Stephen Saunders:

Hi there, cool giveaway. I did as you instructed with the requirements, and also as for what I learned, Feeding America serves all 50 states!

The Betty Crocker Mississippi Mud Kit goes to

Mommy2Bears:

My grandmother makes the best lemon bars. I asked her for the recipe once and she said I didn’t want to know what was in them. They’re so good I guess it must be ground up fairies or something.

Fabulous Friday

Hey everyone.  Sorry I am a little late getting this up today.  Have a great day!

New Adventures

I know I haven’t been here in a couple days but I have a really awesome reason.  I have been accepted to Blog Internship by Kelly McCausey. I am so absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to learn from a highly knowledgeable woman like Kelly.  So for the next 10 weeks I will be posting a little less here at My Red Apron and will be posting daily at Schmoozins.  Schmoozins is a site for moms about moms and products made by moms.

Menu Plan Monday

This week we will have a few changes in our household and our schedule will need a lot of revamping.  As a result we will be eating easy foods.

Monday:  Homemade Pizza (we are home all day and this makes for great leftovers)

Tuesday:  Quesadillas

Wednesday:  Night out with the girls for me so the guys get to decide!

Thursday:  Tacos

Friday:  Subs and raw veggies

Saturday:  Taco Salads

Sunday: Chicken breasts with rice

Pool Saftey

Are your children or grandchildren spending a lot of time in the pool this summer?  If so I would love to recommend you take a few minutes and reintroduce some pool safety to them.  Underwriters Laboratories have partnered with Disney to make safety a fun learning experience for your young child.  They have put out some great water safety videos featuring Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King.

The video is going to cover topics like sunscreen, lifeguards or adult supervision, water depth and much more.  As a parent it can even remind us of things that seem like common sense and we may overlook without a reminder.  Keep your kids safe and use this great resource for free to feel reassured.

“I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Underwriters Laboratories. Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.”
