You can about imagine my boys going bonkers when they opened a box from My Blog Spark containing Betty Crocker’s Mississippi Mud Bar Mix and a new pan. Ethan was all over the pan claiming it as his own and Kyle was bound and determined to make the bars (with a bit of help from dad). Now I adore chocolate and was looking forward to ooey gooey warm out of the oven bars just as much as the kids well maybe not quite as much but honestly I would have preferred a brownie. Something about these bars to me are just too over the top and well I guess it just wasn’t what I was hoping they would be.
On a positive note, my kids loved the bars! They were easy to make and not horribly time consuming. I think the fact that my 12 year old son and dad spent some time together in the kitchen is priceless and sometimes that is all there is too say.

Peanut Butter and chocolate bars are my favorites.
My favorite are blondies with white chocolate, milk chocolate, and butterscotch chips. I prefer mine on the over-the-top side!
I have always loved TollHouse Cookie bars.
I love five-, six-, or seven-layer bars depending on what ingredients I have in my cupboard.

My grandmother makes the best lemon bars. I asked her for the recipe once and she said I didn’t want to know what was in them. They’re so good I guess it must be ground up fairies or something.
